Somebody Moved A Mountain

Ellis and Wince Coles

Do you recall when love was young and tender,

And happiness was walking hand in hand.

When nothing else around us seemed to matter,

But a word, a kiss, a soft touch now and then.

I never saw the need for me to doubt you,

Or question words of love you spoke to me.

For you said your love would always be a mountain

Standing tall for all the world to see.

Well, today somebody moved a mountain

As easy as a tiny grain of sand.

Yes, today somebody moved a mountain,

And I was caught beneath the avalanche.

Have I become someone you used to care for,

Am I just a phase of life you passed through.

Would it be too much to ask the why’s and wherefor’s

Of the reason’s that you do the things to do.

Did we confuse the meaning of forever,

What it meant to you was not the same to me

For you promised we would always be together

Until the mountains fell into the sea.

Well, today somebody moved a mountain

As easy as a tiny grain of sand.

Yes, today somebody moved a mountain,

And I was caught beneath the avalanche.

And I was caught beneath the avalanche.
