Santa Might Not Come

Nobody knows how long it's been ever since the world began
To every house on Christmas Eve come a rich-suited jolly little man
Everybody else is finding it hard, trying to make things do
Did you ever stop think that Santa, might find it the same way too?

Cause he don't have no union, to fight for a raise in pay
In spite of the hours he has to work and trips he has to make
Flying all over the country-side in the sleet, snow and frost
The only good thing about Santa's job is he never ever gets laid off

Here come Santa, everybody sing, when Christmas rolls around
There aren't any doubts in anyone's mind old Santa is coming to town
I hope it never happens, I could hardly bare the thought
If one of those days, here comes Santa, Santa Claus might not

If Santa's job is getting harder, it's only like you think it be
It's hard to find a chimney to climb since we turned to electric heat
Those shiny metal stove-pipes on the outside of the wall
With wood stoves all night long it's a wonder he comes at all

But he don't seem to worry, it don't seem to bother him none
As long as there,s goodness in the world, old Santa's gonna come
As long as there are little boys and girls dreaming in their little sleepy eads
He'll be around every Christmas Eve no matter how rough it gets

Here comes Santa, everybody sing, when Christmas rolls around
There isn't any doubt in anyone's mind, old Santa is coming to town
I hope it never happens, I could hardly bare the thought
If one of those days, here comes Santa Santa might not

If one of those days, here comes Santa Santa might not
