White Rose of Newfoundland

Something keeps passin through my mind,
A little white flower I left so far behind.
She can compare to the fairest in the land,
Cause she is my white rose of Newfoundland.

I left a long time ago, headed for old T.O.
To see if I could earn my way,
I soon found out in this old city, that things are rough
So Im headed home again I had enough.

I called her on the phone, told her I was coming home,
If she could be there when my boat arrived.
She said dont worry, honey, you that I'll be there,
And I realized how much I missed that rose.

Chorus
She's my white rose of Newfoundland I left so far behind
And I'll always remember her until the day I die
There's one thing I surely know, i'm going home to stay,
To my white rose of Newfoundland back home in Trinity Bay.

I finally reached the island I like to call my home,
She was there waiting for me, standing all alone,
She threw her arms around me saying never leave no more,
I said dont worry, darling, for I never more will roam.

I remember her standing there as pretty as can be,
That little white rose of mine will live in memory,
I can't recall how many times I wanted her to know,
My white rose of Newfoundland I'll always love her so.

She's my white rose of Newfoundland I left so far behind
And I'll always remember her until the day I die
There's one thing I surely know, i'm going home to stay,
To my white rose of Newfoundland back home in Trinity Bay.
