A Toast To Newfoundland

We may not be so great
But we're proud of what we are
We like the things other people like
A nice home and a big car
Some people call us stupid
But I just think it's grand
That I can say I'm a native son
Of the Isle of Newfoundland

Sometimes life can get so rough
Along our rocky shore
We say we'll just pack up and leave
And won't come back no more
But something just keeps pulling us
As though it had us by the hand
And every road we travel on
Leads back to Newfoundland.

I know it's hard for other folks
To understand the way we feel
I can only say it's not a joke
This feeling it is real
It comes from deep inside of us
And where once they stood we stand
And we'll raise our glass
And drink a toast
To the Isle of Newfoundland

And we'll raise our glass
And drink a toast
To the Isle of Newfoundland
